Is there such a beast as a libertarian socialist. I don't know but if there isn't, there should be.
What are the tenets of libertarian socialism. Lots of skepticism about bureaucratic authority but also a fundamental belief that wealth and income should be somewhat equally distributed. Contradictory ideas? Perhaps but it is necessary for people who call themselves socialists to get over the religious belief that the the role of governmnet and the bureaucracy is always positive. Rules and regulations need to be carefully analyzed to determine if they make life better for the average person. Often they don't.
Juricana looks at some of the draconic legislation that has been passed by the B.C. Liberal government over the last ten years. It has been anything but liberal. Chief among the abusive and authoritarian legislation has been the Civil Forfeiture Act.
